Tree Removal in Marysville & Snohomish County

Safe, Professional Tree Removal — From Single Trees to Full Properties

Some trees need to come down. Whether it’s a dead tree leaning toward your house, a root system cracking your foundation, or you’re clearing space for a new build — removing a tree safely takes the right equipment, the right experience, and a crew that knows what they’re doing.

At Pacific Land Preservation, tree removal is our bread and butter. We’ve taken down thousands of trees across Snohomish County — on tight residential lots with fences and power lines, and on wide-open rural properties where we can drop trees all day.

When Does a Tree Need to Come Down?

Not every tree problem requires removal — sometimes trimming or cabling is enough. But removal is the right call when:

  • The tree is dead or dying — Dead trees are unpredictable. They can drop branches or fall without warning, especially in Pacific Northwest wind and rain storms.
  • It’s leaning toward a structure — A tree leaning toward your house, garage, or power lines is a liability every day it stands.
  • Root damage — Roots cracking your foundation, driveway, or sewer lines won’t stop growing.
  • Storm damage — A tree that’s been cracked, split, or partially uprooted by a storm is compromised and unsafe.
  • Construction or clearing — You’re building, expanding, or reclaiming your property.
  • The tree is diseased — Diseased trees can spread to healthy trees nearby. Sometimes removal is the only way to protect the rest of your landscape.
  • It’s simply in the way — Blocking a view, crowding other trees, or preventing a project from moving forward.

If you’re not sure whether a tree needs to come down, we’ll come take a look and give you an honest assessment. We don’t remove trees that don’t need removing.

Our Tree Removal Process

1. Free On-Site Estimate

We come to your property, assess the tree(s), identify any hazards (power lines, structures, slopes), and give you a straightforward price. No surprises.

2. Planning & Safety

Every job gets a plan. We figure out the drop zone, rigging needs, and equipment required. For trees near structures or power lines, we may section the tree from the top down using climbing and rigging techniques.

3. Removal

We bring the crew and equipment needed for your specific job. Chainsaws, rigging, chippers, and when needed — cranes or bucket trucks for the big stuff.

4. Cleanup

This is where a lot of tree companies fall short. We don’t leave a mess. All branches, wood, and debris are chipped or hauled away. Your property will look better than before we showed up. Stump grinding is available as an add-on or you can leave it for later.

What Does Tree Removal Cost in the Marysville Area?

Tree removal pricing depends on the size of the tree, its location, and the complexity of the job. Here’s a general idea:

  • Small trees (under 25 feet): $300–$800
  • Medium trees (25–50 feet): $800–$2,500
  • Large trees (50–80 feet): $2,500–$5,000
  • Very large or hazardous trees (80+ feet, near structures): $5,000–$8,000+

These are rough ranges — every job is different. A 60-foot tree in an open field is a very different job than a 60-foot tree hanging over your roof. The only way to get an accurate price is a free on-site estimate.

We don’t give estimates over the phone (and you should be skeptical of anyone who does). We need to see the tree, the access, and the surroundings to give you an honest number.

Types of Trees We Remove

Western Washington is home to some beautiful trees — and some problematic ones:

  • Douglas Fir — The most common removal request. They grow tall, drop needles constantly, and when they lean, they’re a serious hazard.
  • Western Red Cedar — Gorgeous trees, but they get massive and their shallow root systems make them vulnerable to windthrow.
  • Big Leaf Maple — Heavy limbs, aggressive root systems, and they drop an absurd amount of leaves and seeds.
  • Alder — Fast-growing and short-lived, which means they rot from the inside out. Often need to come down before they fall on their own.
  • Cottonwood — Weak wood, messy, and they love to grow near water and septic systems.
  • Fruit trees, ornamentals, and everything else — If it’s a tree, we can remove it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need a permit to remove a tree in Marysville?

It depends on the city/county you’re in and the size of the tree. Marysville, Everett, Snohomish, and other municipalities each have different regulations. We can help you figure out if a permit is needed and how to get one.

What happens to the wood?

We chip branches on-site. Trunk wood can be cut into rounds and left for you (great for firewood) or hauled away — your choice.

Do you remove the stump too?

Stump grinding is a separate service that we offer at the same time or later. Many customers bundle tree removal + stump grinding for a better price.

Can you remove a tree close to my house?

Yes. We regularly remove trees within feet of structures. These jobs require careful rigging and sometimes sectional removal from the top down. It takes longer but we do it safely.

How soon can you come out?

For non-emergency work, we typically schedule estimates within a few days and can start work within 1-2 weeks depending on the season. Emergency storm damage gets priority — call anytime.
